WHAT WE ARE SEEKING

Canary Publishing acquires fiction and nonfiction for adult readers that reflect the breadth of Jewish thought and experience. We are not currently acquiring children's books, poetry, or academic works.

We know that many fine manuscripts have been rejected, canceled, or ignored in recent years because of their Jewish or Zionist content. If that happened to you, we want to read your manuscript. If you wish, tell us your story. Anything you share stays in complete confidence. We will never publicize your account or your name without your explicit permission. And if you'd rather not revisit it at all, that's fine too.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Please send submissions to submissions@canarypublishing.org, and make sure that the word Submissions appears in your subject line.Â
Â
For fiction, please send a query letter, a one-page synopsis, and the first three chapters (or roughly the first fifty pages). We will let you know if we’d like to read your complete manuscript.
Â
For nonfiction, please send a proposal: an overview of the book, a chapter outline, one or two sample chapters, and a note on your intended audience and your background.
In your query letter, include the word count, the genre, a brief author bio, and a few comparable titles. Attach your sample as a Word document, double-spaced, 12-point, Times New Roman, indented paragraphs.

Simultaneous submissions are welcome. Just let us know if your book is accepted elsewhere.Â
